Principal's Welcome
It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to Northwood Elementary School—a place where every child is recognized, valued, and encouraged to thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
Our school is guided by a set of intentional values that shape every interaction and experience within our school. First and foremost, we are committed to being a welcoming and affirming school community. Every student, family member, and staff member deserves to feel seen, respected, and included. We strive to create a sense of belonging where everyone feels proud to be part of our school family.
Integrity is at the heart of what we do. We model honesty, responsibility, and respect in our daily actions, helping students develop strong character and make thoughtful, positive choices.
We also believe in the importance of becoming lifelong learners. Learning extends beyond the classroom, and we encourage curiosity, creativity, and perseverance. Our dedicated staff works to provide engaging and meaningful instruction that meets each student’s needs and inspires a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
As a people-first organization, we prioritize relationships above all else. Strong, caring connections between students, staff, and families are essential to creating a positive and supportive school environment. When students feel safe, both physically and emotionally, they are better able to learn, grow, and succeed. Ensuring a secure and nurturing environment remains one of our highest priorities. We deeply value our partnership with families and encourage open communication and collaboration throughout the year. Together, we can create a strong foundation for success for every student.
We are equally committed to making school a place filled with positive experiences. From academic achievements to social growth and memorable moments, we want each child to find joy, confidence, and pride in their school journey.
Thank you for being part of our school community. I look forward to helping your child learn, grow, and develop positive school experiences.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Melissa Perkowski
Northwood Principal
